Facebook to Transcript is a small, independent utility: public Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube video in, text and subtitle files out. It is not a Meta, ByteDance, or Google product, not a login app, and not a Messenger or DM exporter.

Facebook videos run on the homepage. Instagram Reels run at /instagram. TikTok videos run at /tiktok. YouTube videos run at /youtube. Same privacy rules on every tool.

Two ways to get text: Extract reads captions the platform already attached. AI listens to a 15-minute slice of audio and types the speech. Auto picks the path that works. AI transcription is live — not a waitlist, not a “coming soon” note.

Public videos fail more often than people expect: a region block, a missing caption file, or a speech model that is briefly down. The stack retries those cases so a single blocked server IP or one speech API does not take the whole tool offline. Private posts, Friends-only clips, and DMs still will not open. That is by design.

The site is built to be useful and indexable — a working tool, a handful of genuine guides, and legal pages. We are not running doorway spam, fake counters, or scraped article farms. We also do not claim to be “the world’s best” transcript app. Accuracy follows the microphone, the language, and whether the video is actually public.
